D.T. Mistick received a call after multiple tornados slammed western and central Massachusetts in 2011. The former MacDuffie School campus, was developed between 1956 and 1968 when several large homes and an athletics field were acquired.
On Jun 1, 2011, 5 days before graduation in the school's final year in Springfield, the school's campus was devastated by a rare Category 3 tornado with wind speeds over 100 miles per hour. The tornado tore through several neighborhoods in the city and surrounding towns. While there were no injuries among the students and staff, the campus itself was severely damaged.
Over several days, D.T. Mistick assessed over a dozen buildings on this multi-million dollar loss. For each building, a separate scope of work for repairs was developed. We provided the owner and insurance company with a detailed scope of work along with costs for the needed repairs.
