D.T. Mistick Wins Two Awards for Restoration of the Chapel at the US Naval Academy
CRANBERRY TWP, PA (April 21,2010): Church Restoration Group, LLC (CRG), a local Pittsburgh area based restoration, construction and consulting company, was awarded an Award of Merit for General Construction - Historical by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Western Pennsylvania. In addition, CRG was chosen by a panel of architects and engineers for the ABC's highest honor of the evening, the 2009 Excellence in Construction Award - General Contractor. The awards were presented on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the 37th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet.
For the Excellence in Construction award, the judge's comments included:
"[Church Restoration] … faced several difficulties during construction. After building a temporary wall to separate the construction area from the public using the building, CRG removed the wall with the Jaws of Life to reduce dust. This project was completed ahead of schedule, and CRG partnered with a fellow ABC contractor from Maryland."
Church Restoration Group (CRG) partnered with Tuckman Barbee Construction Company, Inc. out of Upper Marlboro, MD on the interior restoration of the Chapel. The project was completed in two phases, allowing the chapel to remain in use throughout the restoration process. The project was delivered to the Navy several days ahead of schedule and on budget.
